Ellie Young
Communications Intern
Background
Drawing on the energy and enthusiasm of her word-nerd peers fuels Ellie Young’s life and work. As Communications Intern for Piper & Gold Public Relations, Ellie leans into her love of writing and creative problem-solving to get the job done for her clients.
Ellie attends Michigan State University, where she majors in creative advertising. She is a digital reporter for the State News, MSU’s award-winning newspaper, and has previously worked as a culture reporter and copy editor.
Ellie is from Saginaw, Michigan, and still calls it home. She has grown up alongside her 16-year-old cat, Duffy, who she’s had since he was a weeks-old kitten, and she loves binge-watching “New Girl” while she’s knitting hats and blankets.
When she’s not working, Ellie is part of MSU’s pompon team and volunteers with them at events, including the Special Olympics and Grandparents University at MSU. She’s also a volunteer coach for her high school’s pom team, helping them prepare for camp season.
