Background
The passion Kayla Collins has for storytelling and curating diverse and creative strategies has helped her increase brand visibility and engagement for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 300 companies. As Director of Client Solutions for Piper & Gold Public Relations, Kayla is focused on creating long-lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike, always with the aim of uplifting women and communities of color.
Kayla’s background in communications, brand strategy and media relations — and her keen listening skills — help her understand what support clients need even before they ask. She previously worked as communications supervisor for Community Mental Health in Macomb County, leading internal and external communications strategy for Michigan’s third largest county.
A Detroit native, Kayla earned a bachelor's degree in integrative public relations from Central Michigan University and a master’s in strategic communication from Michigan State University. She also holds a certificate in organizational leadership from MSU.
When she’s not working, Kayla is leading yoga classes, bingeing HGTV and consuming potatoes in all their myriad forms. She lives in downtown Detroit with her Shih Tzu, Kash, and loves checking out new restaurants in the city.
