Meet the Team: Tess Francke, Communications Strategist

Mar 9, 2020

Tess Francke is inspired by collaboration, innovation and the badass PR women who have paved the way for her. As Communications Strategist for Piper & Gold Public Relations, her love for writing for print, face-to-face media relations and editorial publishing makes her a unicorn in this digital age.

She’s at her best when she’s part of a collaborative process designed to deliver inspiring communications, turning small ideas into sweeping, impactful outcomes.

In addition to agency work, Tess' experience in medical advocacy writing fuels her dedication to work that demands accessibility, inclusion and equity in health care. She holds a B.S. in journalism from Central Michigan University (Fire up, Chips!).

When she’s not in the P&G office, Tess can be found reading the newspaper, teaching and taking group fitness classes, or enjoying the beauty of Lake Huron with her family. Her profound love for the outdoors and for Michigan has led her to live in six of the Mitten’s great cities. While her native Detroit always has a place in her heart, Tess now loves living in the middle of it all in #LoveLansing with her partner and their dog, Otis.

Notable results:

  • Increased social media audiences from 1,500 to 55,000 across three social media platforms for the Faces and Voices of Cancer project.

  • Pitched the beatification of Father Solanus Casey, resulting in a turnout of more than 100 international, national and local media personnel at the event. Credentialed and managed all media for the beatification, the largest event to visit Detroit in 2017.

  • Managed internationally syndicated live TV segments with media partners for America’s Thanksgiving Parade and the River Days festival in Detroit.
