I’m slightly panicked every time it’s my turn to write a post for the P&G blog. Being a primarily visual storyteller, communicating through words can be a bit of a challenge. It’s hard to interpret the ideas swirling around my chaotic brain to concrete words on paper.
How am I supposed to fill a page with words, especially when most of the words I vocalize come strung together in ridiculous phrases typically followed by, “WTF did you just say?” and laughs from the team.
But at P&G, those silly phrases – mostly childish poop jokes and wildly random stories – have granted me the title of office unicorn.
What is an office unicorn you ask? I’m not quite sure myself, but I like to think it’s someone who is a bit eccentric and someone who uses their sparkly personality to bring a creative and unique perspective to the workplace.
At P&G, I can unapologetically be a unicorn – poop jokes and all. Being myself means that my personality can shine through my work and add sparkle, or spunk, to everything I create. Each member of our little work family has her own quirks, but it’s those quirks that set our professional work, apart from the rest. We embrace our differences and use them to help one another be the best versions of ourselves. And we encourage everyone else to ‘you do you,’ too.
