World Kindness: It feels like we could all use a little

World Kindness Day is happening in November. And while it would have been "easy" (and worthwhile) to focus on gratitude this month, we thought we'd take a little detour into the complicated topic of kindness.
It's been in the press a lot lately -- can or should we be kind to someone we feel dehumanizes us? is "kind" enough? should kindness be earned?
And for many women, the societal expectation that we be kind, or nice, or pleasant is one that shapes our actions consciously and subconsciously and plagues our perceptions of ourselves.
Kindness -- like everything else it feels -- is complicated.
And yet, there's something to it, right? A simple act of kindness. Treating people with humanity. Presuming positive intent.
While there's a lot to unpack, there's also a lot of potential.
So instead of gratitude, this month, we'll explore our influence over one another with our actions, and how kindness fits into public relations.
And while we explore some antiquated notions of "just be nice" we'll pair it with some antiquated yet beautiful art deco inspired imagery. Can old be new? Is there a place for it today?
Come along with us this November. Try to be kind. Or choose not to be. We get that it's complicated.
